GOTAFE Goulburn Valley League Fixture Released for Season 2024
GOTAFE Goulburn Valley League football and netball is set to make it’s 2024 return on 6 April 2024 with the league releasing its fixture.
GVL Board Chair Jacqui Hudgson said, “After a successful season in 2023, we are eagerly looking forward to the return of Football and Netball in 2024.”
Round 4 will be the ANZAC Round, whilst the 25 May will see Interleague action return as the GVL will host archrivals in the Ovens & Murray League and the Say No To Violence Round will be held over Round 7. The League will hold its Indigenous Rounds over Round 12 and 13.
Hudgson said she was pleased to see some night games scheduled in the early part of the season and the return of Interleague for Season 2024. “We will play host the Ovens & Murray League next year and will see Seniors & Under 18 teams compete in football and Open, 17 & Under and for the first time, 15 & Under compete in the netball. This is another great opportunity for players to represent their League.”
Hudgson continued by saying, “We are excited to announce that the Senior Football Coaches have been appointed for 2024. We welcome Sam Reid (Echuca) to the helm and he will take on a co-coaching role with Mark Lambourn who led our Seniors earlier this year. The full Board met with both Sam and Mark several weeks ago, and we were impressed with their plan for Interleague in 2024. The full Board has unanimously approved their appointment and we are excited to see what they will do with the team. The Board is currently working on all other coaching announcements and hopes to have these finalised early in the New Year.”
