2024 GOTAFE GVL Morrison & Wellman Family Medal Night
The GOTAFE Goulburn Valley League (GVL) recognised the League’s best players, coaches and administrators at its Morrison & Wellman Family Medal Night on Monday night.
League Board Chair Jacqui Hudgson said “After a wonderful home & away season and finals series thus far, it was absolutely fantastic to all come together and celebrate the League’s best and fairest players and other award winners. On behalf of the GVL Board, I’d like to congratulate all the winners on their achievements.”
Shepparton’s Ashley Holland was awarded the Morrison Medal (Senior Best & Fairest) with 25 votes whilst Shepparton’s Kimberley Borger was awarded the Wellman Family Medal (A Grade Best & Fairest) with 30 votes.
The night well and truly belonged to Shepparton FNC’s with Montanna Burke winning the Carol Ryan Rising Star Award (17&Under Best & Fairest) with 36 votes, Rowan Hiscock winning the Abikhair Medal (Reserves Best & Fairest) with 18 votes and Jensen Dowling the Pattison Medallist (Under 18s Best & Fairest) with 26 votes.
Shepparton’s Penny Mason was the runner up in the Jacqui Hudgson Medal Count (15& Under Best & Fairest) whilst Millie Casey was runner up in the Gaye Eaton Medal Count (B Reserve Best & Fairest).
Shepparton players Penny Mason (15&U), Matesse Ryan (B Reseve) and Ashley Holland (Seniors) won the Most Valuable Player Awards for their grades. Mackenzie O’Dwyer was awarded the Future Star Award, David Harcoan the Spirit of the GVL Award whilst Senior coaches Ted Lindon and Xavier Stevenson were awarded the Senior Coach of the Year (Football) Award.
